March 2004 3GEN ANNOUNCES PLANS TO DEVELOP NEW BIOPSY ORGANIZER PLATE 3Gen Scientific announces plans to develop and market a new product used in the field of gastroenterology. The product is called a BOP Kit. BOP stands for Biopsy Organizer Plate, and is a secure plate of specialized, easy to open and reseal biopsy specimen containers in an anatomical map format. In conventional gastroenterology(GI) procedures, multiple biopsies are taken from the upper or lower GI tract, placed in individually labeled specimen containers for transport to the laboratory. With the BOP kit, all of the patient’s specimens are maintained in several biopsy containers in one contained unit. This not only streamlines and simplifies the process but reduces the risk of specimen misidentification. 3Gen Scientific will be providing prototyping and commercialization services for the product’s inventor, Dr. Terry Tatum of Bowling Green, KY, with assistance from the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation. |
